Lord, throughout Scripture widows and fatherless are a picture to this world
of our greatest need—knowing God as Father and having an intimate
relationship with Jesus Christ. Please do not let these widows be just one
of the many in the land who did not know you as savior. We pray for their
salvation. Draw each widow in the world to yourself. May they put their
eternal hope in the blood of Jesus Christ.
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” –Romans 10:13
Widowhood is not to be coveted. Even though life for the widow eventually
finds a new normal, it is hard, lonely, and scary. However, when the outside
world is shaken, as with the current pandemic, it is easy to fall prey to
greater distress – grief is heavier, loneliness is amplified, and fears multiply.
She desperately needs to be carried by the prayers of others.
Lord, let the widow look to you in faith. You desire to shepherd her. Even
though she walks through the valley of the shadow of death, let her fear no
evil knowing that you are with her. (Psalm 23)
PRAYER OF THE HEART.
Lord may Your grace be sufficient to uphold me, so that I may be comforted and kept by it, not yielding to despondency at any time.
I commit all the dear ones that You have given me, into Your loving hands. Bless them and supply all the needs of their today and future.
O God, meet all my daily needs also and lead me by the way that You desire. I submit myself and all that I have, to Your perfect will. In Jesus’ name I pray.
