Whether drastic or minor, long-term or short-term, change can be daunting sometimes. Although we might understand that change is inevitable and can sometimes yield positive results, our habitual beings can interfere with our ability to make a move that is different from the usual. Luckily, God, in His Word, gives us sure encouragement and comfort toward change and more so growth.  The Scriptures say a lot on the goodness of change and how God walks with us every step of the way. Although it can be hard, God loves you and will always provide comfort and direction during uncertain times.

In Ecclesiastes 3:1, the Bible says “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…” this shows that change is necessary at certain points in our lives especially if we want to grow spiritually. It requires that we step out of our comfort zone if we need to see transformation in different aspects of our lives. Deuteronomy 31:6 says “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” This means that when God imparts a certain change in your life, He will never leave you halfway. He will walk with you until the end, and so there is no need to fear the change that is going to happen. As long as God walks with you, you are more than a conqueror.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). God will remain to be faithful in His promises to us and when we surrender our concerns and fears regarding change that is happening in various areas of our lives to Him, He will walk with us faithfully. “God is not a man that He would lie…” (Numbers 23:19). When He says He will walk with you during a period of change, you can rest assured that He will never let you down.

God brings change in our lives to make us better, His plans about us are simply beautiful. Isaiah 43:19 says “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” When we let God take control and bring the change He desires for our lives, the blessings are beyond our wildest imagination. His plans are way better than our dreams. And just as Philippians 4:6-7 says, we should not be anxious anything. God grants us peace during the uncertain moments of change.

Having known that God will never leave us nor forsake us, we should be able to face change confidently and positively, understanding that if it is God’s will, it is for the best.
