restored to full use, just like the other.

We have severally heard of the phrase, “Take a leap of faith”, but have we come into terms with what it actually means? Imagine your loved one or a friend is about to give you a gift, would you be able to receive it with a closed fist? You must open out your hand so that you can be able to receive the gift.

It is only then that we begin to comprehend with greater depth what Jesus was thinking when he rebuked the disciples, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?”. Yes, little faith is what makes us hold on tightly to unhealthy behaviors that hinder us from seeing the grace that accompanies us when we decide to step out of our comfort zones. The various forms of little faith are doubt, fear, self-pity and constant worry about life. What does ye of little faith mean? Simply put it means that at this moment in time your faith has been tested and you have come up short! Whether we consider ourselves religious or not, every one of us acts upon faith every day. When we wake up in the morning, we have a certain faith that the sun will rise, that the floor will catch our feet as we walk, and that our hearts will beat throughout the day.

Now, it doesn’t take much faith to believe these things. We know the sun rises, the floor supports us, and that our hearts will beat. Yet, if we constantly had to wonder about these things, we wouldn’t be able to get along in the world. A little faith goes a long way. So stop worrying, and holding on too much, hold on to God, through the faith that you have.
