Finding a God given spouse has nothing to do with ones looks, age or income. It’s good to have those things if you can but in the spiritual world they are of little or no significance. It is deep spiritual insight that counts. God may decide to give you a test before he leads you to your appointed partner. Some ladies and gentlemen who are praying night and day simply need to stop praying for a while and work on their character, not beauty. Many have missed their God appointed spouses through bad character. A lot of people are battling with isolation and loneliness. It is possible that you are attractive, nice, intelligent, educated but you can’t still find the right partner because of your attitude and mannerism.

This means that there are powers behind your problem. God does not need you to catwalk stylishly or pain your lip as a sister before your appointed man can notice you. Nobody is really ugly. It depends on your perception. Ps 139;14. Any man or woman that says he or she does not want to wait for marriage before sex is NOT a believer but a sex addict. If you go ahead and marry such person, it is possible that your marriage may not last long. There are some ladies that have a number of guys that are seeking for their hands in marriage.
In the book of Genesis 24:3-4 when it was time for Isaac to get married, Abraham sent his servant to his country with strict instruction to get a wife for his son. He knew that God hated “unequal yoke” of marriage with unbelievers. Till today that is still the stand of God. Never take anything for granted. Go for deliverance. You must continue going to deliverance until the problems. Some go and stop for a while. 2 Cor 6;14,

WHY GOD MAKES US WAIT
Why does God tell us to wait? That it is good for us to wait?
We are called to “wait on the Lord throughout the Bible.” Even though God promises to bless us for waiting, we have a hard time grasping this truth.
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
Lamentations 3:25-26
While waiting, God expects us to seek him, cry out to him, and put our trust in him. The Psalms are examples of David waiting on the Lord in anguish and pain. The type of waiting depicted here is not pretty or easy but allows God to intervene on our behalf. While we wait, He provides protection and showers us with mercy and love, lifting our waiting burden.

Here is just a portion of Psalm 40, a beautiful song by David on waiting on the Lord. (Find time this week to read the whole chapter if you can.)
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear the Lord
and put their trust in him. “
Psalm 40:1-3
God also asks us to wait on him to gain strength and courage, to allow Him to rescue and deliver us.
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
Psalm 27:14
If you are a parent, you may relate to why it may be good to let your children wait, and God does the same thing with us. In Relevant magazine, Eric Speir gives a list of Five Reasons God May Make Us Wait:
Waiting Reveals our True Motives
Waiting Builds Patience in our Lives
Waiting Builds Anticipation
Waiting Transforms our Character
Waiting Builds Intimacy & Dependency on God
So, if we can agree that there may be good reasons why God may make us wait, what can we do while we wait to make our time in the hallway in-between more productive and beneficial?

- Be responsible and ready Luke 6:31
- Pray for financial liberty Philippians 4:19
- Read books to gain wisdom proverbs 4
- Live a holy life 1Peter 1:15
- Serve GOD Deuteronomy 11:13
- Work on your appearance

DAY 1. PRAY FOR HIS/HER HEART TO DESIRE TO BE IN THE WORD DAILY.
Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

As a wife or husband in waiting, you need to be in prayer that your future partner is, above everything else, seeking Christ and His Kingdom FIRST in their life. With all of the busyness and temptations that this world throws at us, it is so hard for men (and women!) to keep God at the forefront of their everyday. Be praying for his/her heart to desire to be in the Word daily and striving to live a life that pleases the Lord.
Almighty Father, thank you. You know the deep longings of my heart and You know what is best for me in life. Lord, help me as I desire a good companion in life.
If it is Your will, guide me, Lord, to the partner You have chosen for them. Give them the wisdom and direct them in their pursuit to choose me. Everyone deserves a loving and God-fearing partner, for a happy life. We ask You to remove all obstacles in our way and perfect everything for us. Send me the one who will complete me and help me serve and love you better. Amen.
DAILY DECLARATION

DAY 2. PRAY THAT HE/SHE WOULD CLING TO GOD AND ALLOW HIM TO BE HIS/HER FULFILLMENT
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Sometimes as you are wondering why you are waiting, your future spouse might be wondering why he/she is waiting, too. And sometimes that waiting is HARD and it’s difficult to see what God’s plan is in the middle of it all. Be in prayer that God would reveal Himself to your future spouse while he/she waits for you; that he/she would be reminded that God desires to bring him/her good and the desires of his/her heart. Pray that he/she would cling to God and allow Him to be his fulfillment.
Lord, You said that it is not good for man to be alone. We ask You to listen to my heart as I look for a life partner. Put my yearning for marriage in the right perspective. Lead me to the one You choose and reveal Your plans for them so that I can prepare myself better. Lord, teach and guide me to seek You first and to learn to give love more than expecting to receive it. Help me to remember that whatever journey my life leads them on, You are always present, always offering companionship, and always filling their deepest need. Amen.

DAY 3(LADIES). PRAY THAT YOUR MARRIAGE WILL LOOK LIKE; MIRRORING CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH.

Ephesians 5:22-33 “Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wife’s ought to be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. So, husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body. For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.”

These are a lot of verses, but they are packed full with awesome truth about what you should be praying your marriage will look like; mirroring Christ and His church. While men and women are equal in Christ, we were designed very differently from one another according to what God’s purpose is for our roles in marriage. Be in prayer that your husband will lead your family with Christ at the center, loving you the way that Christ loves the church and that he would be self-sacrificing for you and your family. Let’s face it, the God given responsibilities of being a husband are huge. Be praying that God would give your future husband the strength and heart to do what he is called to do!
Heavenly Father, you understand my desires of the flesh. Being single is tough, Father, and I pray that you will help me as I battle sexual temptation. Lord, I want to save myself for my wife/husband. I don’t want to give away such a personal part of me to some woman/man that I won’t spend my life with. Father, you want me to stay pure until the wedding day, so please give me strength when I am weak. Give me a way out when sexual feelings bombard me. Lord, I need You to walk with me! Thank You for life, Father! May my life reflect Your love to others this day. Amen.

DAY 4 (MEN). PRAY FOR THE FRIENDS OF YOUR FUTURE WIFE
Proverbs 13:20 “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

Praying for your future wife’s friends and community is another great way to lift her up in prayer before you meet her! The old saying goes, “You are who you hang out with.” I truly believe that that phrase was derived from this Proverb. Be in prayer for the kind of people that she will surround herself with. Pray that they will be a good influence on him and like-minded, striving for Christ in their hearts and their relationships. We have seen many good women whose life has been messed by the “Gang of Girls” that they hang out with. Be in prayer that she is plugged into a good church home and has a support system of friends she can turn to for encouragement or prayer. And who knows, those friends you pray for now may become your friends someday, too.
DAILY DECLARATION
I long for the companionship of a mate, and it is getting so difficult. I don’t want to settle for someone who You don’t want me with. I want a physical connection so bad. I want hours-long conversations at night. But I don’t want to settle just to have these things. Father, please hear my prayer to You. Guide me to a person who is right for me. Guide me to someone who loves You above all things. Lord, give me strength for today as I continue searching for a spouse. Holy God, being single is a gift. There is nothing wrong with being single, but I still long for a partner in this life. Father, while I am waiting, give me strength to endure each day. Lord, I am Your child. I pray that my life can reflect Christ to those around me always. Father, I will praise You in this time of singleness and I pray that You will be glorified in all I do this day! May everyone I meet see You in me today! And if possible, may my future spouse see me as well! I love You! Amen.
DAY 5. PRAY AGAINST SEXUAL TEMPTATION
1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

Praying this verse can cover any multitude of temptations, but this day I want us to focus on sexual temptation. In our culture today, it is BEYOND difficult to be a man/woman and strive for purity in their heart, mind and body. Sex is thrown at them from every angle, and the devil knows how to get a foothold in their hearts. Be praying that God would help them to flee from any situation that would cause temptation and that they would stay grounded in God’s truth for them as they save themselves until they are married. Want to take it a step further? Pray for the other women/men who they may be dating now and pray that THEY would help keep them pure until they meet you, also praying that if they have taken things too far that they would see their sin and run from it. It’s hard to do, but it is possible.
I am ready to find a mate. Lord, until the day comes where we meet, I will keep hoping and dreaming. I can imagine what our first kiss will feel like! I can imagine how wonderful holding hands will be! I can imagine how emotionally connected we will be through long conversations! I can imagine how attractive they will be and outshine all of the rest around me! Father, I love You and I want to show that love to a mate. Guide me to someone who will be good for me. I love You, Amen.

DAY 6. PRAY THAT YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE WOULD BE TAKING TIME TO SEEK GOD IN TIME ALONE WITH HIM.
2 Peter 3:18 “Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.”

Being in prayer for knowledge for your future spouse is so important! Pray that he/she would be taking time to seek God in time alone with Him, as well as with other believers. Your future husband/wife can’t grow by just sitting around and being stagnant, so pray that he/she would push to study God’s Word and trust in God’s grace in his life.
Lord, please bless me with a partner in my life. Despite all of my efforts, I have failed to meet someone who I could share my life with. Each failed relationship makes me lose hope in ever finding the right partner. I pray that your divine guidance will help me find unconditional love. When I meet the right person, help me to deserve their trust and loyalty. Through your strength, help me to build a loving relationship. Help me to live a Godly life so that I am a person that my partner will deserve. I want to find meaning and love in my life, and I pray that you will help me find the love that I so desperately seek. Amen.

DAY 7. PRAY FOR GOOD HEALTH
1 Corinthians 6:19 “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body.”

Praying for your future husbands/Wife’s health and physical safety is such a tangible way to be lifting him/her up. Pray that he/she would honor God with how he/she physically conducts himself/herself and that God would protect him/her wherever he/she goes.
Lord, you have said that it is not good for man to be alone. I ask that you look into my heart and help me find a partner who matches me. I yearn to find someone that I can share my life with, so I pray that you will lead me to the right person. Teach me to guide and seek you first so that I will be able to love my partner fully and completely. Remind me that you are always present and have a plan for my life. Help me prepare for the future that you have in store for me and the partner that I will one day find. Amen.

DAY 8. PRAY FOR BOLDNESS FOR YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE!
Acts 28:31 “He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ–with all boldness and without hindrance!”

Pray for BOLDNESS for your future spouse! Ultimately, our goal as Christ followers is to go out and tell others about the good news of the Gospel, so pray that he/she is convicted to share his/her heart with others with confidence and clarity.
Lord, I ask that you guide me as I search for the right partner in life. I know that you have a plan for my life, so please help me be patient for the right person. As I wait, help me to become a responsible, capable person so that I may one day be a good, God-fearing partner. I know that I must be deserving of the right partner, so help me to learn from my shortcomings and improve myself so that I will be ready. As I grow deeper in my love for you, guide me toward finding love in someone else as well. Amen.

DAY 9 – PRAY FOR STABILITY
Genesis 2:18, “The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

Heavenly Father it says in your Word that it’s not good for man to be alone. So, today I ask you Lord to bring me partner in my life. Let him/her be a suitable partner for me. That we would run the race together and bring glory to Your name. Help me to become the man/woman you have called me to be and help my future husband/wife to also walk in your ways. Thank you, Lord you are working on this, and that you heard my prayers. In Jesus mighty name, amen!

DAY 10 – PRAY TO FIND DELIGHT IN THE LORD
Psalm 37:4, “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. – Psalm 37:4

Heavenly Father, I come before you today to remind you of your Word. It says that those who delight in You shall have the desires of their heart. So, Lord today my prayer is for two things and that is that everything in me would take great delight in You. That you would draw me closer and my heart would touch by you.
And Lord my second request is that you would see the desire of my heart to me married. This desire in me is strong and I know you are faithful Lord, and I trust you will bring me a life partner who follows your ways and is after You heart. So, please bless him/her and bring him/her into my life. In Jesus name, amen!

DAY 11 – PRAY FOR INNER PEACE AS YOU WAIT
Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.“

Heavenly Father, today I come before you and I ask for your peace to be placed in my heart and in my mind. Lord, I ask that you would see my desire for a husband/wife and answer my prayer to be married and have a family. Provide for me a spouse who genuinely loves You and is hungry for you. Lord, help me to be patient in this time of waiting, but confident that you will see me through. In Jesus name, amen!

DAY 12 – PRAY FOR TRUE LOVE.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven… “

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you will answer my prayers in Your perfect time. I trust you, Lord! You know what is best for me. Lord in your perfect time bring me a husband/wife. Someone who loves You and will love me. Help me to be patience and in peace as a wait. Sometimes I struggle Lord with frustration and fear. So, I lay this request at your feet and I ask that you would pour out your presence upon me and give me the grace to give this to You. In Jesus name, amen!

GIVE SOMETHING!

Would you be willing to give a financial offering as you wait upon the Lord?
Maybe you have been waiting on God while He has been waiting for you too; lets reflect together;
God Is Waiting for You to Plant a Seed

“Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”
John 12:24.
What does a farmer do when he has a barren field that’s producing no income? He doesn’t complain about it. He doesn’t even have to pray about it! He just goes out and starts planting some seed—because nothing is going to happen until he plants the seed. He can pray all he wants, but it’s not going to produce a crop.
Maybe you think you’re waiting on God. You think you’re waiting on God for that job. You think you’re waiting on God for a spouse. You think you’re waiting on God for the windfall. But God says, “You think you’re waiting on me? I’m waiting on you! I’m waiting for you to plant a seed.”
Everything in life starts as a seed: a relationship, a marriage, a business, a church. And nothing happens until the seed is planted.
Why does God require you to plant a seed? Because planting is an act of faith. You take what you’ve got, and you give it away. That takes faith, and it brings glory to God.
Jesus described this principle of sowing and reaping when he was trying to explain why he came to Earth to die on the cross. In John 12:24 Jesus said, “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds” (NIV). Jesus was saying, “People will be saved and go to heaven because of my death and Resurrection. I’m going to plant a seed, and the seed is going to be my life.”
Here’s the principle of sowing and reaping: Whenever you have a need, plant a seed. Whatever you need—more time, more energy, more money, more support, more relationships, more wisdom—just plant a seed. If you need more time, give more time to your kids. If you need more money, give it away to someone who needs it. If you need more wisdom, share what wisdom you have with others. Give yourself away!

It may not make sense to you to give away something that you need more of, but that is exactly the kind of attitude that God wants to bless and that will produce fruit in your life.

- What need have you been waiting on God to provide?
- What do you think God might be waiting for you to do about that need? What seed can you plant today?
- What kind of results do you see in yourself and others when you plant a seed and give of yourself?
- How is God building your character through that?

THANKS FOR BLESSINGS PAST AND PRESENT
Lord God, we gather around this table to humbly thank You for all that You have given us this past year – not just what is on this table, but who is sitting around this table. Thank you for life and laughter, for health and happiness, for relationships and memories. Thank you, too, for the lessons learned and the tears we’ve cried because of Your ability to grow us through them. Thank You for Your comfort and Your presence, in light of good days and bad. Thank You for what we have now, for what we had yesterday, and for what You will continue to give tomorrow. Let us never take that for granted, but to always be grateful for every good and perfect gift that comes from You. May we have hearts full of thanksgiving not only today but every day of our lives. We pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.
A PRAYER WHEN WAITING ON THE LORD.

Father in Heaven,
I come before you with my heart filled with so many different thoughts and feelings. I am tense and uncertain about what I should be doing and where I should go. I feel weak and helpless. Powerless. I am worried about what happens next and whether I have the strength to handle it. Deep down I wonder, how long will I be here? Will I be stuck in this place of waiting forever? And why am I here to begin with? What’s happening, Lord? But most of all, I wonder, where are you? Why haven’t you responded to my cries for help?
But even as I pray that, I know you are right where you’ve always said you would be. You’ve never left me and you will never forsake me. You are not deaf to my cries. In fact, you know the thoughts in my heart before I even think them. You know exactly what is happening, why I am here, and what is going to happen next. All things are in your sovereign care and control. Nothing happens outside your knowledge and will. Not even a hair falls from my head without your willing it to happen. Nothing surprises you or takes you off guard. Including this issue right here, right now. You know why I am here waiting and you have promised to use it for your glory and my good.
Forgive me for all my doubts, worries, and fears. Forgive me for my impatience as I wait in this place. Forgive me for questioning the story you’ve written for me. Forgive me for not seeking your face and allowing the struggles before me to seem greater and stronger than your grace and mercy for me. Cleanse my heart of all that keeps me from you. Help me to see the ways I have tried to be my own god and my own savior. Help me to see the false idols I have erected to worship and serve instead of you. Help me to see the things I am clinging to right now that I think I must have to make me happy and help me to repent and turn from them.
I believe, help me in my unbelief! Help me to remember that it is good to wait for you. As the prophet wrote in Lamentations, “It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord” (3:26). As I wait, help me to remember and dwell on the salvation you’ve provided for me through Christ. Help me to remember that the same grace that saved me at the cross is the same grace that sustains me today. And that same grace is at work in me even now, shaping me into the image of your Son. And no matter what happens, no matter my current circumstances, I am safe in the shelter of your wings. There is nothing that can separate me from your love. Nothing and no one can snatch me from your hands.
Grant me the joy that comes from knowing you and being known by you. Fill my heart with gospel joy. Strengthen me by your word. May the words of the Psalmist be true of me, “I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I hope” (Psalm 130:5).
Help me to remain faithful in this place of waiting. Help me to serve you and live for you even in this crossroad of my life. Help me to wait as long as it takes.
I pray all these things because of Jesus and in his name,
Amen.
A BREAKTHROUGH PRAYER FOR WAITING FOR GOD’S TIMING
Lord, I thank You that You will answer my prayers in Your perfect timing. Reveal what is in my heart, and make me ready to handle the answer in the right way when it comes. Help me to pray by faith consistently and long-term, to believe, wait, and then move forward in Your timing.
Help me to be patient in prayer, not give up, and trust You even during moments when I feel negative emotions. I don’t want to live by feelings but by faith. Help me not to take matters in my own hands. I choose to trust you, and I refuse to believe the lies of the enemy.
I choose to be faithful in prayer (Colossians 4:2). Deepen my understanding, and give me a greater knowledge of what You are doing in my life. I choose to hold unswervingly to the hope that I profess (Hebrews 10:23).
Stretch my faith in the midst of the wait, just as You did with Your disciples when encountering a storm at sea (Matthew 8:23-27). I thank You that You have all wisdom and will answer my prayers in the perfect way. In Jesus’ name, amen.
