Merciful God, thank you for loving me even when I am angry. I realize that cultivated anger damages my relationship with you and others and even myself.
Enable me to cope with situations that stimulate anger in me through your calm, Spirit dwelling within me. Help me to master and rule over the sin that would seek to defeat me.
I am a new creation in Christ and I am not a slave to sin or anger. May Christ have greater control of me as I yield my life to him.
Refresh me with your love and help me to walk by the Spirit each day so that I always will strive to be more like Christ than Cain. In Jesus’ name.
