Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? … No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below — indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35, 37-39)

Even if you’ve spent your whole life running from God’s presence or doing things you regret, Our Father still loves you and yearns to have a relationship with you. Sometimes, we yearn to be loved by our fellow human beings, and that is perfectly human. But most times, especially without God’s guidance, we might end up giving our all to people and not get the exact replica of love. God’s love is unconditional, unfathomable and infinite- far beyond what people are capable of.

The Scriptures often remind us of God’s wonderful, extravagant, amazing, unstoppable and unconditional love. He loved you so much that He gave His only begotten son to die a painful death for your salvation. His love does not come with expectations. He can do anything for you because you are His and He desires to be close to you. I may not understand the exact situation that you’re going through that makes you feel unloved and unappreciated, but one thing I know for sure is that the Lord loves you beyond measure. Let that be your reassurance always: That the Lord who formed the sky cares about you so much that He knows your name and has a beautiful future laid out for you. God’s love is perfect, everlasting and impeccable.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
