Lord Jesus, who gave us the model of martyrdom by laying down Your own life for us, and chose to redeem a people that have murdered Your prophets because we could not stand correction and truth, allow me to honor all who suffered persecution, humiliation, and loss of life for Your sweet name.
Not everybody is called to shed blood for Your sake, but do not let me forget that whenever I suffer the world’s hatred for my faith, I should bear it gladly because it hated You first. Blessed be all Your martyrs, holy apostles, prophets, and patriarchs who unceasingly preached repentance and were happy to die for You. Amen.
