Man of the Day: Paul

Prayer Focus: Great Conviction

Paul was a great man of the New Testament. We first see this man when his name was Saul of Tarsus. Before his salvation he was convinced that Jesus and Christianity were plots to destroy the Hebrew God of the Old Testament. However, Jesus revealed himself to Saul and he accepted the Lord as his personal savior. Instead of persecuting the church, Saul changed his name to Paul and he began to preach and establish new churches throughout the known world.

Paul is most well-known for his three missionary journeys spanning from the middle east as far west as Italy. He established many churches, trained young pastors and wrote much of the New Testament.

The Apostle Paul is truly one of the great men of the Bible.

Walking in your Convictions Prayer

Lord,

Thank you for conviction, and thank you for loving me enough to pull me out of my sin. I pray, Father, for a heart that boldly walks in its convictions and leans into you. Help me Lord to see conviction as a gift, a gift of grace and mercy. Please continue to stir in my heart the places I’ve fallen complacent and lead me as I turn from them.

Help me to live out the truth from Galatians 5:25, that if I say I live by the Spirit, let me stay in step with the Spirit.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Conviction fro the Holy Spirit Prayer

Righteous Lord, you are the King of our hearts, but the heart is deceitful above all else. Help us to discern your will, and teach us to walk forever in your ways. Heavenly Father, teach us to be sensitive to the prodding of your Spirit. When we have strayed, return us to your path, just as a shepherd does with his sheep. Amen.

Daily Prayer for Blessings

My son, Because YOU are born of God, YOU shall overcome the world and every battle in it, in Jesus name.

By the blood of Jesus, I blot out every evil family record that may be speaking against you.

Like Joseph, may you receive the anointing to terminate generational battles.

Like Jephtha, may you receive the grace to rewrite our family history positively.

Like David, may you be used to kill the Goliath that we your parents and our seniors could not kill.

Father, empower my son to defeat the forces that defeated our parents and grandparents.
