Agnes Wairimu Thuo is a 43 year old mother of three children whose story really touched my heart. She was unexpectedly abandoned by her husband over ten years ago, and her life and those of her children have never been the same again. She is a casual labourer and the sole breadwinner in the family. Her two elder children, Cecilia Wanjiru (15 years old) and Joseph Njoroge (14 years old) are respectful, well behaved, strong-willed and very bright in school. Cecilia, who finished Primary school in 2020, scored 392 marks in KCPE and Joseph, who should be joining Form One this year, scored 373 marks.

Cecilia was admitted in St. Therese Mbooni Girls’ High School, a national school in Makueni. However, the financial state at home has forced her to be in and out of school due to lack of school fees and even basic upkeep. Despite being away from school, she has been doing her best academically and has been an above average performer. Her brother, Joseph, was admitted in Kiambu High School, and was expected to report to school on 6th February 2023. However, up until now, their mother has not afforded to take him to school. It has even been harder to secure the casual farming and cleaning jobs due to the current hard economic times.

Both of these children are at home, desperately awaiting a well wisher to come to their aid. I call upon you my friend, to help me change their story. If you or you know someone who can sponsor either of these children’s education, please reach out to my office on 0792119191 or WhatsApp me on 0783403375.
