Prayer Focus: That Your Daughter Will Cultivate the Virtues of Kindness and Compassion

One of the things that really interested me about Pharaoh’s daughter was the revelation that she acted as a fore-shadow of Christ through her show of mercy towards Moses. “Mercy” can be defined in the following ways:
Compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, enemy or other person in one’s power
The discretionary power of a judge (or authority) to pardon someone or to mitigate punishment
An act of kindness, compassion or favour
This is exactly what the Pharaoh’s daughter did by knowingly adopting a Hebrew child, despite her father’s command and the power that she herself had to execute it. Such benevolence puts me in mind of God and the mercy that He showed to mankind through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You can find out more about how here.
Prayer
Dear God, thank you that you’ve created my daughter with a divine purpose in mind. Thank you that you’ve given her gifts and talents to help her walk out that purpose. Lead her down the right path and give her a gift of discernment to know what direction she should take in life. Help me to recognize the best way to nurture the gifts in her even in her early years. Lord, guide her and teach her to use those gifts to glorify you. Let her seek you above all else and follow your lead as you help her to walk out her purpose. Give her insight and wisdom to choose those things that line up with her purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Daily Prayer of Blessing
My daughter, you are my child whom I love; with you I am well pleased. I love you with all my heart, and so does God!
I speak all good blessings into you as a daughter; I call your spirit to life, breaking every curse spoken or send against you. I speak life into your soul that you may rise up and not fall down.
May you be surrounded with quality friends:
who build-up instead of tear-down
who inspire godliness, instead of provoke evil
who are faithful to you, rather than flighty
who are passionate about you, not apathetic towards you,
who don’t compare
who are not vain
who will encourage you to guard your heart
I give to you the blessing of my prayers. You are worthy, you are holy, you are blessed, you are wanted, you are loved.
I love you and bless you with the promises of God. You are His and have been set apart from the world for His Holy purposes.
I bless you with God’s everlasting love, wisdom, peace, and joy. I bless you with sexual purity, marital fidelity, and many children of your own.
May God continue to keep His hand of favor and prosper you in all that you do, and may you serve our Lord Jesus Christ all the days of your life. Amen.
