Prayer for Anger Control

Dear Jesus,

please help me.

I have problems controlling my temper.

I find myself slipping into frustration,

and even anger and rage.

Especially when I feel like someone is being unrighteous against me,

or I feel like I need to justify myself.

Please help me,

for relationship(s) are being negatively affected by my behavior.

Please grant me a request:

the ability to monitor myself better,

and to have more control over my reactions.

Please help me to put aside my strong feeling of needing to justify myself with anger.

Please help me to learn how to keep my mouth shut,

until I have had a chance to calm down and think things over.
