Lord, as I wake up from my sleep, I am aware that I need you. Today is Wednesday, the middle of the week. Even before I get out of bed, I want to dwell here in your presence.
Jesus, you demonstrated to us the importance of being in prayer with God in the morning.
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. (Mark 1:35)
God, I notice that Jesus began his day with prayer and ended it with preaching. This prayer gave Jesus strength, purpose, and encouragement for his day.
I come to you this morning seeking those things as well. Guide me to the people who need you, give me strength to share your love, and help me to experience your presence the whole day.
I pray all of these things through Jesus, the only one who can save and the perfect example, Amen
