God, tonight I pray for rest for my family, especially those that do not know you. As many will look forward to Friday and the coming weekend for rest I pray that instead they turn to you for all their hope and rest only you can provide.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV)
God, I pray that you open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light. Allow them to see how their lives have been controlled by the power of Satan but there is great hope in you. You are the only one that loves us fully and keeps your promise to provide for your children.
God, we can only rest in you. You alone God can forgive our sins and sanctify us by faith in Jesus. So I pray that you work in my family’s lives this Thursday night. You are the one that can open their eyes. I pray you give them the courage to follow you in faith.
I pray all of this and trust in your love for me, this day and every day, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
