Today on the thirty-second day of our 40 days novena for family deliverance, we invoke El-Berith, the “God of the Covenant.” This name reminds us of the steadfast and faithful nature of God, who establishes and keeps His covenants with His people. In 2 Samuel 22:1, we read about David’s song of praise to the Lord, where he exalts God for His deliverance and faithfulness.

A covenant is a solemn agreement, a binding promise. Throughout the Bible, we see God making covenants with His people, promising His presence, protection, and blessings. These covenants are not just historical agreements; they are enduring commitments that God honors even today. God’s covenant with us is a testament to His unwavering faithfulness and love.

In our families, we are called to reflect this covenantal faithfulness. Just as God keeps His promises to us, we should strive to keep our promises to each other, building relationships founded on trust, commitment, and love. Let us remember that God’s covenant with us is a source of strength and assurance. No matter the challenges we face, we can trust in His faithfulness to see us through.

Prayer

Dear El-Berith, God of the Covenant, We thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness and the promises You have made to us. Help us to mirror Your covenantal love in our families, keeping our commitments to one another and building relationships on trust and integrity. Strengthen us to honor You in all our dealings and to rely on Your steadfast love through every challenge. Amen.
