Heavenly Father,
As we gather in prayer on this Sunday morning, we are reminded of the words of your Son, Jesus Christ, as recorded in the Gospel of John (15:1-8). Lord, help us to abide in him as branches in the vine, drawing our strength and sustenance from him alone.
In the passage, Jesus speaks of the intimate connection between himself and his disciples, likening it to the relationship between a vine and its branches. Lord, may we be rooted and grounded in your love, bearing fruit that glorifies your name and reflects your goodness to the world.
As we begin this day of worship and rest, may we be filled with gratitude for the abundant blessings you have bestowed upon us. Help us to approach this time of Sabbath with reverence and awe, offering you our praise and thanksgiving for your faithfulness and grace.
Lord, as we hear your word proclaimed and receive you in the Eucharist, may our hearts be open to receive the life-giving nourishment you offer us. Grant us the grace to be transformed by your presence, that we may be strengthened for the journey ahead and empowered to live lives of faithfulness and service.
Bless our families, our communities, and our world, Lord, and guide us in the ways of peace and justice. May our lives bear witness to the transformative power of your love, drawing others into relationship with you and the abundant life you offer.
In Jesus name we pray, Amen
