Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father,

On this Thursday morning, we come before you with grateful hearts, seeking your presence and guidance as we begin this new day. Inspired by the words of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark (9:41-50) and the example of Saint Julia, we offer our prayers to you.

Lord, in today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches us about the seriousness of sin and the importance of living a life of integrity and holiness. He reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness, done in your name, will be rewarded, and that we must remove anything from our lives that leads us to sin.

Help us, Father, to be vigilant in our actions and mindful of the influence we have on others. Grant us the strength to remove any obstacles in our lives that hinder our relationship with you. May we strive for purity of heart and mind, seeking to do your will in all things.

Saint Julia, whose feast we celebrate today, lived a life of unwavering faith and courage. Despite facing persecution and martyrdom, she remained steadfast in her devotion to you. Inspired by her example, may we have the courage to stand firm in our faith, even in the face of challenges and adversity.

As we go through our day, help us to remember Jesus’ words: “Whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ will by no means lose their reward.” May we find joy in serving others, no matter how small the act, knowing that we are serving you through our kindness and love.

Lord, bless this day and all that it holds. Guide our thoughts, words, and actions so that they may reflect your love and bring glory to your name. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, and help us to be instruments of your peace and grace in the world.
